Currently, there are nearly 3000 young people and adult leaders involved in Scouting across Gillingham alone!
In an effort raise awareness of the Scout Association and to celebrate the birthday of the Founder of the Scouts, primary schools across the district were invited to wear their Scouting or Guiding uniforms to school on 25th February.
As the day is also Thinking Day for the Guide Association we asked the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows to wear their uniforms too.
Mrs Oliver held an assembly at the Infant site explaining to the children what the day means to the scouts and why some children wore their uniforms. A number of children shared the benefits of being part of such a wonderful community and learnt the key history behind the group.
