Year 6 went on a visit to Rochester Cathedral as part of their earning about the Anglo-Saxons. The children were shown how large the original church would have been in Anglo -Saxon times compared with today’s Cathedral. They also took part in an improvised play on the arrival of Augustine to Kent in AD 597 and the gradual conversion of Britain to Christianity. The Junior children and Year 6 parents will be able to see and hear about the Anglo-Saxons in the Year 6 class assembly very shortly.
